Starting Again

‘Environmentally aware and interested in living sustainably.’

I like that: my motto is reduce, reuse, recycle, repurpose. Since I move a lot, leaving a small footprint in this world works out well. Fewer things to pack and store.

‘I used to volunteer with a group that literally spent its Saturdays picking up trash off the streets of where I live. March to snow fall. It’s a surprising amount of fun.’ I say.

This comment has gotten me the side-eye from plenty of people.

‘What kind of environmental work do you like to do?’

‘Oh, I save things from the landfill. And if anyone ever needs anything they can come to me and I dig through all my stuff to see if I have what they need.’
